5 stem cuttings Rotala "Red Stem"– emersed
Rotala "Red Stem" is a form of Rotala Rotundifolia that is native to southeastern China. The leaves are long and narrow, similar to those of Rotala H’ra. Rotala Red Stem is a less demanding type of Rotala and grows red under high light even without injection of CO2. When grown under these ideal conditions, the leaves will get a striking red colour. Addition doing of iron may help bring out red colours in plants.
The vivid red coloration will definitely grab attention and bring depth to any aquascape. Rotala Red Stem can be grown in both submerged and emersed conditions (will be green not red in emersed state), although a transition period will be required. To keep Rotala Red Stem nice and compact, regular trimming will need to be performed. The plant trimmings can then be replanted as a form of propagation.
The pictures are for illustration only (all taken by us), and the real plant may vary in colour and size. The colour depends on the fertilizers used. Plants will take their natural look in the aquarium. You will receive plants looking like on the 4th photo.
The size of the plant shows how big it can grow in an aquarium. That gives information to the buyers where to position plant in the aquarium. Plants which you will receives come from greenhouses and some of them might be smaller than the final sizes shown on the listing.
This is a stem plant. As it is propagated by cuttings, it may have no roots at all. After planting in the aquarium, the plant will grow new roots within a few days.
