Echinodorus Amazonicus is one of the most popular aquarium plants, valued for its long, narrow, bright green leaves. Compared to Echinodorus Bleheri, it has slimmer foliage and a more elegant appearance.

This plant can grow quite tall—up to 50 cm—making it an excellent choice for background placement in aquariums.

For best results, plant it around 5 cm deep in the substrate to prevent it from floating. As a heavy root feeder, it requires nutrient-rich substrate or root tabs. Nutrient deficiencies may cause leaves to turn yellow, become transparent, or develop holes (a sign of macronutrient deficiency). Root fertilization is essential, as liquid fertilizers alone are usually not sufficient.
