Cryptocoryne Wendtii ‘Indonesia’ In Vitro Aquarium Plant – Small

Cryptocoryne wendtii ‘Indonesia’ is an attractive, compact Cryptocoryne with broadly lance-shaped leaves in deep brown, bronze and olive-green tones. Established submerged leaves may develop a distinctive feather-like pattern of darker markings, providing excellent contrast against bright-green aquarium plants.

Despite its trade name, ‘Indonesia’ is a cultivated selection of the adaptable Sri Lankan species Cryptocoryne wendtii, rather than a separate Cryptocoryne species from Indonesia. It is also sometimes incorrectly sold under the name Cryptocoryne indonesii.

Its compact rosette growth makes it suitable for the foreground or midground of planted aquariums, nano tanks and natural-style aquascapes. When several portions are planted together, they can gradually develop into an attractive group.

This is an easy and undemanding aquarium plant that grows under low to medium lighting. Additional CO₂ is not required, although CO₂, root fertilisation and a nutrient-rich substrate can improve growth and overall appearance. Depending on aquarium conditions, submerged plants can reach approximately 10–20 cm tall.

In vitro small portion

This product contains the full plant contents of one small in vitro tub. In vitro plants are cultivated under controlled laboratory conditions and are free from snails, algae and pesticides, making them suitable for shrimp tanks and other sensitive aquarium inhabitants.

Please note that the plant will be removed from its original tub and carefully repacked for transportation. This reduces the parcel size and helps protect the plant during delivery. You will still receive the full plant contents of one small in vitro tub.

Plant care

The variety is described as an undemanding, low-light Cryptocoryne with medium growth and brown patterned foliage.

How to plant

1. Carefully remove the plant from its transport packaging.
2. Rinse away all remaining clear growing gel using clean water.
   
3. Plant each portion into a suitable aquarium substrate using tweezers.
4. Cover the roots while keeping the crown, where the leaves meet the roots, above the substrate.
5. Leave some space between the portions to allow runners and daughter plants to develop.

Cryptocoryne plants may occasionally lose some older leaves after being introduced into a new aquarium. This is commonly known as Crypt melt and can occur while the plant adjusts to different water, lighting or substrate conditions. Leave healthy roots in place and maintain stable conditions, as new submerged leaves can develop.
