Cryptocoryne Walkeri In Vitro Aquarium Plant – Small Tub

Cryptocoryne walkeri, commonly known as Walker’s Water Trumpet, is an attractive Sri Lankan Cryptocoryne with firm, upright leaves. Depending on aquarium conditions, its foliage can develop green, bronze, brown or reddish tones, making it an excellent accent plant for the foreground or midground of a planted aquarium.

This is an easy and adaptable aquarium plant with a slow, compact growth habit. It can grow under low to medium lighting, while stronger lighting may encourage deeper colouration. Additional CO₂ is not essential, although it can improve establishment and growth. A nutrient-rich aquarium substrate or regular root fertilisation is recommended.

Over time, the plant produces underground runners and can gradually form an attractive group of closely spaced rosettes.

In vitro small tub

This plant is cultivated under controlled laboratory conditions and supplied as the contents of one small in vitro tub. In vitro plants are free from snails, algae and pesticides, making them particularly suitable for shrimp aquariums and tanks where unwanted hitchhikers must be avoided.

Please note that the plant will be removed from its original tub and carefully repacked for transportation. This reduces the parcel size and helps protect the plant during delivery. You will still receive the full plant contents of one small in vitro tub.

The plant can be carefully divided into several smaller portions before planting.

How to plant

1. Carefully remove the plant from its transport packaging.
2. Rinse away any remaining growing gel using clean water.
3. Gently divide the plant into several smaller portions.
4. Plant the roots directly into a suitable aquarium substrate using tweezers.
5. Avoid burying the crown too deeply—the point where the leaves meet the roots should remain just above the substrate.

Cryptocoryne plants may occasionally lose some older leaves after being moved into a new aquarium. This is commonly known as Crypt melt and can occur while the plant adjusts to different water conditions. Leave healthy roots in the substrate and maintain stable conditions, as new submerged leaves can develop.
