Cryptocoryne petchii ‘Pink’, also known as Cryptocoryne beckettii ‘Petchii Pink’, is a compact aquarium plant with attractive pink, bronze and light brown-red tones. Its narrow, gently rippled leaves make it an unusual colour accent for the foreground or midground of planted aquariums and nano tanks.

This Cryptocoryne is relatively easy to grow and adapts to a wide range of aquarium conditions. It can grow under low to medium lighting, and additional CO₂ is not essential. A nutrient-rich substrate and stable conditions will encourage healthier growth and stronger colouration.

Leaf colour and shape may vary depending on lighting, nutrition and water conditions. Under some conditions, the leaves may appear more olive-green, bronze or brown rather than bright pink.

In vitro small tub

This plant is cultivated under controlled laboratory conditions in a small in vitro tub. In vitro plants are free from snails, snail eggs, algae and other common aquarium hitchhikers.

Please note that the plant will be removed from the original tub and carefully repacked for transportation. This helps reduce the parcel size and protects the plant during delivery. The plant you receive will still be the full contents of one small in vitro tub.

The plant can be carefully separated into several smaller portions before planting.

How to plant

  1. Carefully remove the plant from its transport packaging.
  2. Rinse away any remaining clear growing medium using clean water.
  3. Plant each portion directly into a suitable aquarium substrate using tweezers.
  4. Keep the crown of each plant just above the substrate and avoid burying it too deeply.

Cryptocoryne plants can occasionally lose some older leaves after being moved into a new aquarium. This is commonly known as Crypt melt. Leave the healthy roots in place and maintain stable conditions, as the plant can produce new submerged leaves.

Please note: The photograph shows an example of the product. The exact quantity, size and colour of the plants may vary naturally. The plant is grown in a small in vitro tub but will be removed from the tub and repacked for transportation.
